yummy indian pop tarts!?

i love going out and sharing food. we both ordered our favorites and this included tandoori fish and garlic naan for me but lucky for me i was with a cherry and mint naan lover. they are kinda like an indian version of pop tarts, this is how i like to think of them.

karma

helped dog/house sit this weekend in the oakland hills. i love little dogs and this one, karma, helped me procrastinate a little bit longer. walked into town for grapefruit juice and arizmendi cookies. spotted this fragrant rose bush hedge. i love roses and this one made me miss my favorite rose bushes in pdx. i hope to catch their blooms this summer.

got my mojo workin'

ah oakland is full of surprises and this little place was one of them. the music was amazing and the people even better. everytime i sat down someone asked me to dance this included the harmonica player and the guitar/lead singer in the middle of a song. the music was so good that the pool tables and ms. pac man pinball had time to breathe. the cowboys and indians wall had me a little confused and amused. this is truly the most genuine place i have experienced in a long time. luv

i love traveling, the airports, nostalgia, newness and well all of it

my little spring break adventure to the north shore of oahu (surf capital) started early with a pit stop in the mission to pick up a little whiskey for the flight and a few books from a friend and then bart to sfo. i love traveling and i think the recommendation to take a little in flight nip may be a new tradition. pete meet mark.

inspiration

we hiked to the tip of oahu

the northernmost point of the island. here we took a dip in the cool wading pools and admired the sleeping seals and crashing waves.

day trip to honolulu

got a little too much sun at the surf beach and headed into honolulu to stay off shore for the day and opt to watch a soccer game and visit the temple.

ocean=the front yard

oh what a day

bike ride through pineapple fields into the little surf town, haleiwa for shave ice. i ordered the traditional shave ice with ice cream and aduki beans hidden at the bottom. i am happy to say that i tried it but it gave me a belly ache.
stopped at the health food store for more substantial provisions before heading home. no bike locks here, i usually used my scarf to tie it up.

flowers for the table

i love taking walks with little ones the conversations are always intriguing.
we picked flowers and visited with the horses down the road.
this hibiscus was almost as big as my head.

foster botanical garden in honolulu

came into the city a little early. starbucks was open (not my favorite but i have a gift card) and not much of anything else so it was coffee break time. i like the cup quote.
cruised the uber swanky mall with a koi pond, open air and a view of the ocean through the breeze ways.
