friday! i have a new appreciation for friday thanks to the kids and some much needed rest. went out for sushi and we saw a sea of plaid shirts and midwest folk. bluegrass fest had started and it made me feel at home. did a few loads of laundry and then headed out to the haight for a drink. we went to alembic and i highly recommend it. they had an amazing selection of well, everything. they had a well stocked stash of scotch including highland park (i do not recommend it unless you like the taste of tobacco). sampled a rye beer and the beloved pumpkin ale. it started to rain and that quenched my desire to move back to the n.w. anytime soon, i loved it but a little goes a long way. popped in a few doors down for bhangra music and ending with pizza at 2, it was time to head home. early saturday i woke up and ran some errands downtown to discover that love fest started. again more naked people in the streets. i was reluctant to turn it into a photo op but the guy that is always on the corner saying that sex is for marriage was toting his sign "jesus loves you" and i just couldn't resist.
