at a little bookstore in the mission

On December 7th 2009, government officials arrested Majid Tavakoli, an outspoken university student in Iran. Soon after, a photo of him was published, showing Majid wearing a woman covering. The officials circulated a rumor that Majid was arrested while he was trying to escape by disguising himself as a woman.

In response to his arrest and in protest of mandatory woman covering in Iran, Iranian men around the world have taken action:
For the first time in their history the men are covering themselves in Hijab, and publishing their photos online.

Theses photos are accumulating everyday; one website has reached 587 photos by Dec 14.

For the following month this window display becomes a mirror portraying some of the images that are accumulating online. link
