listening to bon iver,laura marling,jose gonzalez and horsefeathers. surrounded by a sea of fog and dreams... seasons are turning and time of transition is near.

science is sexy

too much fun at the story of time and life science lecture. got a little lost and a lot late, lucky for me i had someone taking copious mental notes. walked the four floor self tour followed by late night dinner at a mission taquería.

i passed this storefront while getting a few provisions for the week and it spooked me. i stopped mid stride to gaze in past the glass and into old souls.

a kid again

alright, i have a rule to post pics within 7 days of taking them. i went to a big fashion show a week++ back and it was awesome. i went to ensure that a few students could come along and use our complimentary tickets. the event was about fashion but the real focus was aids awareness. dancers with huge sparklers, men modeling underwear with yellow pythons draped around their shoulders, aerial hoop and fabric dancers, and last but not least Mehcad Brooks, from True Blood came out to bring down the house. my camera was still on the fritz and my phone pics don't do it justice but if you close your eyes and imagine yourself in the middle of about 20 high school students as a gorgeous tv star with rock star status comes across the catwalk with little on and a swagger. well, it was an amazing privilege to share this moment with them and next time i will bring ear plugs. ; )

a weekend of opera and oysters

a fabulous end to a fabulous week of a fashion show, great night at the science lecture, opera, and a beautiful sunny day at point reyes with oysters in hand. i will revisit this post when i am caught up on sleep.the camera has been without batteries for a while now so until the are charged it's just camera pics.

jellyfish bliss

i want to go here, now...puh, puh, puh, please. if i can leave in the wee hours of the morning to go camping or catch the sunrise, swimming with jellyfish by moonlight is not a stretch. oh palau, why must you be so far away? someday!
i saw a big purple jellyfish from the boat on sunday, well a little german boy saw it too and we had a moment, both elated. i love jellyfish and every glimpse is always magical.

millions of tourists can't be wrong, right?

my dad rode his harley halfway across the country for a visit and we i tried to show him as much of sf as possible in a few short days. a trip to alcatraz was the only super touristy visit on our list but it was awesome. we found ourselves in the middle of a sailboat regatta on the return boat ride and i am now convinced that i should be aboard more often. the view of the city and marin is amazing from alcatraz!
