mellow and perfect

after a crazy day i was really looking forward to a calm, but fabulous evening. made a stop downtown at rite aid for a snack, not a little hand pie (they are delicious? and even more intriguing) but vitamin water and a bar and i love the colors i feel like they make my organs glow in the dark, just speculating.
i had plans to meet michael at the rickshaw for the dutchess and the duke show. we were both early and the weather has been unusually warm and still so we decided to seize the opportunity and go for a walk through hayes valley on the quest for a nice place to get a drink. i love walking especially at night so we ended up stopping at a lot of nice places to look in the window and be asked if that would work. eventually michael asked if i really wanted to get a drink and i said that i was really more into the night neighborhood tour. so we just kept walking and reminiscing about portland and how i love being outdoors in oregon and didn't really go out, and i found myself out a lot in san francisco. he has the complete opposite experience. i think this city is turning me into a nature loving hippy. and on that note it was time to head back to the rickshaw. the first band was dreadful and after two songs of feedback the singers microphone went out completely on the third song and we were saved. then the moment we(+ almost everyone in attendance)were waiting for, yes the dutchess and the duke! , cue the applause. the sound person was uh, well i don't know there was a lot of feedback and the  d + d music factory opted to play an acoustic set, and it was awesome. we moved in closer huddled around the stage for an intimate little show. it was too cute. after sweet mellow tunes i wasn't really up for loud music and unlike michael i did not come prepared with ear plugs so he suggested we leave after d + d knowing that their set would not be beat, so we did. said thanks to the band outside, and then to michael as he hoped on his bike which split his pants, yikes. we have somehow made a tradition of including an awkward/embarrassing moment happen before we say goodbye. he suggested we take a bike ride across golden gate bridge soon!!! yes, i was just thinking about it earlier that day, for the billionth time so i am super excited for it to come to fruition. yes!
