well after last night a few of us decided to take it easy today. we met at the farmers market at the ferry building. it took an hour+ to get there by bike just under 6 miles, so i thought it wouldn't take that long but i forgot to adjust for the enormous hills that seemed laughable except that i still had to get over them. tough love, tough but i loves it and i am going to plan my trips a little better after. i loved it still. i love biking in this city even when it proves to be super challenging. oh i scored two pairs of plant pruners on my ride and i have wanted a pair for such a long time. biking through china town on a busy saturday morning when the rest of the world seems to be wide awake is invigorating. it was so beautiful. passed the trolley and at yes, at the market! we bought baskets of ripe strawberries that "had" to be consumed before the bike travel continued. so berries and ice coffee with chicory served as a little energy snack before we continued our journey along the waterfront. passed sailboats and the giants ballpark, stopped to grab a blanket and then biked to the mission district to get picnic provisions at bi rite market. this cute little specialty market has champagne, breads, cheese, cured meats, and house made deli items. i still have fond and vivid memories of this little market from about 8 years ago. alas, with our bikes locked and bags full of treats we claimed a little piece of dolores park for our afternoon picnic of wine and food, good conversation and people watching. a few hours later our faces were a little rosy and it was time to remedy this sun soakin' and relaxin' with a burrito and hot sauce to really flush our cheeks. oh what a day! miles on the bike and fun in the sun. today i feel elated and exhausted. kinda like when you are little and just wear yourself out from playing so hard. a good tired. oh hello summer
